PETER OBI HAS GIVEN REASONS WHY HE STILL WORKS WITH INDIVIDUALS IN HIS NEW PARTY,  THE AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (ADC), DESPITE CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THEM

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has given reasons why he still works with individuals in his new party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), despite corruption allegations against them.

Peter Obi speaking after joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Obi addressed criticism that he is now working with politicians facing corruption allegations.

He said that working with them gives him a chance to change them, Obi said engaging such individuals allows him to influence them positively

He used a religious example, saying

Supporters say:

Politics requires alliances

You can’t fight corruption alone

Engagement is better than exclusion

Critics say:

It weakens his anti-corruption image

He risks being seen as compromising his principles

 

At the same time, he is building a broad coalition for 2027
